Has this mod only been semi-completed up until the magitek factory? I noticed the item drops/steals have been changed/adjuested even after the factory, but thus far the difficulty doesn't really seemed changed from the original. Not that I can really remember how hard this part of the game was in the original. I only remember the flying continent probably the hardest in the game and little else.

Yes, according to a post earlier in this thread, you can get Mog and complete the Magitek factory, but the beta 5.x do not have any updated content beyond that. Beta 6+ will apparently require a complete restart.
I am looking forward to playing the remainder of this patch. My only real complaint is having encounters like the two Giga Volt users in the Magitek Factory (I forget the name of that encounter...). Having random battles that could annihilate your team before any of your characters can execute a move is not really fun.

Ahh, i figured as much. hmm. That kinda sucks. Now i don't wanna keep playing it, hah. And the two giga users are rhinoxes and ya they are pretty nasty. Best bet is to have siren on locke and every bit of magic evade items you have. Not only do they cast giga pretty much 90% of the time, they seem to have ridiculous speed. Maybe they have inherent haste or something.

Rest assured that I will spend some time working everything out soon.

I've been working on balancing Mog a bit...I think since I am able to make Dance a little more accessible I can make the skills a little diverse. The current skillset has some repeats which I don't really like. My hope is that although its a little random you can sort of pick your dance based on what you are trying to do whether it be damage, healing, etc.
Progress is being made nonetheless
