Hello. I am very new to the community, and also to Emulator use. I need advice on how to get started, i loved Final Fantasy Tactics on the PS1, and i want to play through FFT 1.3. But have no idea how to get started.

First of all, which emulator would you suggest, and I would also like some help on setting it up and getting it working, I have dabbled before, but to no avail. Also, do I need the FFT PS1 Disc to run it on the emulator or not? I could also use some advice on how to download and install the patch.

1. Download EPSXE (Emulator) and PPF O MATIC from the Tools section: http://www.insanedif...index.php/tools
2. You don't need a FFT disc to run it on emulator. Google "FFT ISO" and download the first result
3. Download the 1.3 Patch from the Games section: http://www.insanedif...index.php/games

It'll show you what to do with the 3 things you downloaded

I am really struggling getting the EPSXE emulator to run. I actually at one point had the game running, but it was choppy there was no sound and i couldn't use my keyboard to select anyhting from the title screen, i had to close the game. Since then, whnever i have tried to go into my Emulators config, it has crashed saying i am missing a file. Can anyone help?

^ It's complicated, it could be you're missing a rogue file that will take your eons to find, it could be that the answer is simple and you've just yet to find it, or it could be the configuration is off. Heck it -COULD- be your computer. One in every three people have trouble with Epsxe from what I can tell. I can send you my exact emu in a compressed file, and if you still have trouble it could be your computer system settings.(I.E. You're computer not allowing the program to run properly. They do that.)

Whatever the problem, I've dealt with enough people have Epsxe trouble's to probably know what the error is and or is not. With more detailed description.
All else fails you can just have a copy of mine.

AAAHA. Finally got this thing working, the only thing that is left to do is optimise the settings because the battles are still running really slowly. WOW this is a great ordeal.

Well i am up and running, and i have started a save and i am up to sweegy woods, i was just gearing up and preparing abilities though and i think i may have run across something. I was sure in 1.3 that squires could equip bowguns? But i don't seem to be able to, do i need to also download the 1.3 content patch or is the 1.3 one alone all i need? Maybe i am just wrong. Do i need anything else to access all the changes in 1.3 or just the patch?

Then you're not playing 1.3. Maybe it didn't patch properly, or maybe you are patching many things on top of eachother which are breaking stuff. Do you see the 1.3 Title screen when you started the game?

1.3 Content is the same mod, but way easier.

I only patched once using the 1.3 download. I see the title screen and enemy squires have been bowgunning me, maybe i am just being a little stupid and not paying enough attention. The difficulty is definitely there, so. Hmm. Thank you, i shall check back into it.
