OKAY. i used alcohol 120 to copy my final fantasy tactics cd onto my computer. Then i used pff matic to add the patch, the music is good now with the attacks being a different sound and text like this. See image.
Any ideas how to fix? Did my disc not copy all of fft due to a scratch?

looks like poor emulator settings to me.

That's just the emulator having trouble displaying the text. Try these settings, except limiting the FPS to 60 and turning Frame Skip OFF:

If you still run into display issues, try switching Video plugins and select Pete's OpenGL

It might do this every once in a while anyway. I get this, along with the black map.
