V16 which pop works nice ?

I played the hard version 7 but many bugs and the Uthai quest was impossible to do, so i upgraded to v16.
For that, i use USA ISOs, patched them, use psx2psp program and finaly, put it on my PSP and it seems to work.
I started a game, patch is there, and everything works fine... until the meeting with Aeris in the church, where you can choose her name.
Reno comes in, follow you, ask his soldier NOT to walk into flowers and then.. black screen.
The music of Turks still going on, but the screen stay black instead of changing for the screen where Aeris fail at jumping.
I searched on the net for similar problems, and many people says "it comes from pop !" "FF7 works only with 3.71 pop".
I was using 5.50 pop (don't ask me why).
So i started another game, with 3.71 pop and nothing happens. Game don't start at all (i have the warning screen, then it's black and i have to quit or reinitialise the game)
I searched again, on this forum, and one guy said he was doing with 3.02 pop and all was fine for him.
So i started another game with 3.02 and all was going nicely until the same point : black screen.
So i started another game with 4.01 and all was going nicely until the same point : black screen.
Now i have tried with 3 pops, and that the "good one" seems not to work, i really beg for help ! Can someone tell me with which pop he plays FF7 v16 HT ?
I was using 6.60 B10 and changed to 6.60 C2.
Does anyone have a clue for making that problem old history ?

If you really wanna play it on the PSP but it freezes on certain cutscenes, you can export your save to your SD, and then play that cutscene on your PC with epsxe (I don't remember how I did it, though). Then just save with epsxe, and import the save back to the PSP. I remember I did it by using a plugin, pressing select for... 3 seconds, and the option would pop up.

Btw, I would prefer a better one, where the game would work nicely from start to the end, so if someone have a tips or a clue what i could try, please let me know !
I ask myself if i should try to re dl isos and repatchs them and so...
Or downgrade the psps firmaware to 5.xx to try...
Help is welcome, if a player with 2000 psps have a working v16 on his psp !

Try using the Cheat to speed up text, or allow you character to move while talking to people, some other cheats to try, the principle is the "Joker Command" that stops the memory from locking, thats what a lot of cheat codes use.
I played an earlier version of the hard mod years ago, I'm using 6.60 pro c fix 3, on the psp. I'll patch the rom and see if it crashes at the church when you talk to Aeris, btw, I usually use 3.80 pops, but just like the other guy mentioned 3.71 is good. (guess you would be looking for lots of audio clipping or random slowdowns when selecting a pops version) (busy making some psp eboots, but, I'll report back though, been planning on playing something close to the original, have no intention of playing with the chocobos in the amusement park for hours just to get one round knights table summon, so I'll probably just use one tiny cheat for that.
TempAR cheats work on Xenogears Hard Type 1.4, should work here too, don't care about the cheats, its the game breaking mechanics that are fixed for a few games with cheat fixes.
(not sure what I can do to get it to crash in the opening scene, I read somewhere, that "cdmage" can fix the psx game's CRC so it won't crash when it checks for it, will just try a straight patch and see if it crashes, in a day or so)
Works fine using 3.71 (6.60 pro C fix 3) (this core stops the random slowdowns in a number of games), most cheats work using tempAR), only found the game fixes useful (gp guy always appears in flying saucer, text speed up, stop timers, etc.) (Only problem I have with the mod is the AP, since it will take longer to gain up levels for that without using cheats, other than that everything is good, now without using cheats for the spells, I'll have to play though most of the game to see if thats a pacing issue, which probably isn't given the good reviews

Thanks for your tips but i didn't need to try it.
For now, i'm still playing the hard mode V16. I'm still using pops 5.50 (for some reason, 3.71 don't work for me).
I played a lot these last days becaus i'm going to japan and wanted to get Sephiroth there to make my "otaku" super time
Btw, i had a freeze again, in river of life cinematics (50h of game argg !) and thought i would not be able to finish the game.
I tryed black chocobo save editor but wasn't usefull to skip the cinematic.
Then i tried a stupid thing that worked, i report it there to help people who could have the same problem :
I put a "vanilla" version of FF7 on my PSP (the original one, no patch, no anything, just the eboot.pbp of the game).
So i have BOTH hard mode FF7 version AND the vanilla one.
I launched vanilla version and used the last save i made playing the hard mode version.
I played the game and the cinematic runned well (no freeze) until i could save again.
Then i left vanilla version and launch the hard mode version.
I used the save i just made in vanilla version and... it worked ! I'm back to hard mode version without any change for caracters or so.
As there was no fight or anything, i don't care having "by pass" that way
Hope it can help !
Sephiroth, i'm coming muahahha !!!
